They overshadow "Bolón": the Astros finish off the young Yucatecan with a home run

Jake Meyers homered off Yucatecan Manuel Rodriguez to put his team ahead, and Josh Hader stranded a runner on third in the ninth inning to preserve the Houston Astros' 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in St. Petersburg.
Chandler Simpson reached on catcher's interference to start the ninth inning against Hader. Simpson advanced on a grounder before stealing third base. Hader then got Taylor Wells to bunt, and Isaac Paredes made a fly ball near the safety net to close out the game, his 12th save in 12 starts.
Meyers went 2-for-3 and hit his third home run of the year on the second pitch from Yucatecan reliever Manuel Rodríguez (0-2) to put the Astros ahead in the seventh inning. "Bolón" allowed three hits and one run in one inning of work, leaving his ERA at 2.53.
Mexican Jarren Durán hit a double and a triple as the Boston Red Sox punished star Kodai Senga with three runs—the most he has allowed in a game this season—and beat the New York Mets 3-1 at Fenway Park.
Senga (4-3) fell behind 3-0 after two innings before settling in and retiring the last seven batters he faced. He allowed five hits and three walks in total, while striking out five.
Red-footed starter Hunter Dobbins held the Mets to one run on five hits, allowing consecutive singles before striking out Tyrone Taylor on a called third strike for the second out in the fifth. Justin Wilson (2-0) struck out Francisco Lindor to end the threat. Aroldis Chapman pitched the ninth for his seventh save.
Durán led off the bottom of the first with a double, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on Alex Bregman's groundout. Trevor Story hit an RBI single to make it 2-0.
In Pittsburgh, Austin Hays had three hits and two RBIs, plus scored the go-ahead run as the Cincinnati Reds beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 7-0 for their fifth straight victory. Gavin Lux hit two doubles, the second of which drove in Hays, in the sixth inning to break a 1-1 tie.
Venezuelan William Contreras went 4-for-4 and hit a tiebreaking single with two outs in the eighth inning of the Milwaukee Brewers' 5-4 victory over the Baltimore Orioles, who suffered their seventh straight loss. The Orioles erased a three-run deficit but still fell to 0-3 since firing manager Brandon Hyde and naming Tony Mansolino as interim manager over the weekend. Mansolino served as Hyde's third-base coach.
In Miami, Jesus Sanchez hit a home run in his first at-bat and a game-ending triple, finishing with three hits and four RBIs as the Miami Marlins rallied to beat the Chicago Cubs 8-7.
Rookie catcher Agustín Ramírez also homered in the first inning for the Marlins, who blew two leads before Sánchez's triple. Miami was one strike away from losing against Daniel Palencia (0-1) when Derek Hill doubled on an 0-2 base and Javier Sanoja walked. Sánchez followed with a hard drive that reached the right-field corner, sending both runners home for the Marlins' sixth comeback win of the season.
Julio Rodriguez hit a grand slam, fellow Dominican Luis Castillo pitched seven scoreless innings, and the Seattle Mariners beat the Chicago White Sox 5-1 for their fourth straight victory. Castillo allowed three hits, struck out five, and issued no walks in his first win since April 26. The right-hander is 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA in four career starts against Chicago. The last-place White Sox wasted a standout performance from Davis Martin in their fifth straight loss. The right-hander pitched seven and a third innings.
